About the IFC

The Interfraternity Council is the governing body for the 36 Fraternity chapters at the Pennsylvania State University. The executive board is comprised of 11 affiliated members of these fraternities and serves to unify and oversee operations related to the actions and events held by the members of the Interfraternity Council. 

 

The Interfraternity Council organizes and hosts many events throughout the year for both the Penn State and State College community members. In pairing with the Panhellenic Council, National Pan-Hellenic Council, and the Multicultural Greek Council, it has contributed to a successful number of accomplishments that have promoted service and leadership within itself and its members. The Interfraternity Council continuously strives to maintain a positive relationship with its surrounding community members and continue its efforts in displaying the importance of contribution to its members.

 

 

Statement of Relationship

 

Fraternity and sorority organizations at The Pennsylvania State University, identified in this document, are considered private, independent, self-governing and social entities that freely associate and determine their own membership. The four governing councils at Penn State, i.e., the Interfraternity Council (IFC), the Panhellenic Association (PA), the Multicultural Greek-Letter Council (MGC), or the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) are responsible for establishing policies and procedures under which their member organizations are expected to follow.
